Family Lunch Bites Wednesdays at 11:30am, September 10th - November 19th

Bring your little ones and join us for Story Time, Craft and Social Time.  Pack a lunch and have a picnic with the group in our children’s area. Younger children may need assistance with crafts.

 

2 - 4 yr old Story Hour Thursdays at 10:30, September 11th - October 16th

Listen to a story and enjoy a craft

Registration helpful but not required.

Multi Seed Bead & Baby Bead Mix  Beading Bonanza

Thursday, September 11th at 4:00pm necklace

Have fun beading with your friends! Learn hemp braiding techniques.

Materials provided. Registration required for adequate supplies.

 We have many crafts leftover from throughout the year that we’ll spread out and let you dig into.

ATC ~ Artist Trading Cards with Guest Speaker Erika Davis-Pitre

Erika has a collection of ATC to truly inspire the young and the old.

She has attended National ATC conventions and presents ATC programs at the Lutz Museum in Manchester, CT. If you have an inkling of interest in ATC, this is a don’t-miss occasion!

View, learn and create ATC at JCCL.

Children and Adults will be awed by Erika’s portfolio.

Everyone can be an ATC artist!

Curse of Micah Rood

Have you ever heard of the 1700’s legend straight from Franklin’s history?? Heard of “Mike” apples?

18th century, Micah Rood of Franklin, CT committed a heinous act on a traveling peddler. A blood chilling curse followed. One tree in Micah Rood’s orchard,

                                              the apple tree where the peddler was murdered,

                                                                                 bore fruit with a red, blood-like drop at its core.

tree      Based on the legend, Firesite Films is proud to present this chilling tale.

Join JCCL for the unique opportunity to view the Firesite Film.

The film was shown at the New London Film Festival and will be shown at the Rhode Island International Film Festival this fall.

Join us for the kickoff of this club with Mystery readings and exclusive showing of  “I Spy” Mystery Bulletin Board game.

Saturday, September 27th 10:00 am

The Library has coordinated with the Franklin Historical Society and Franklin 4-H a day of Franklin Family FUN! We have placed Letterboxes around the town. Get your first clue at the library. That clue will lead you to the next clue and teach you a tid bit about Franklin. Once you’ve collected all the stamps in your letterbox notebook, bring it to the library.
